We were young and educated. We owned a successful business, a beautiful home, and expensive vehicles. We even had a great reputation in our church.

But underneath the veneer of success, our lives were busied, pushed, and stressed. Our marriage was troubled, our Christian experience was superficial, and we didn't really know our children.

Convinced that pursuing the "American Dream" was robbing us of an authentic walk with God, we sold everything and set off for the Montana wilderness in search of the "Enoch experience". What we found forever changed our lives. Yours could be next!

Almost 24 years have passed since we moved our family to the wilderness. Our little boys are now grown men, with homes and families of their own. Matthew, our oldest son, married Angela on August 11, 2002. Andrew and Sarah were married October 20, 2002. Both couples now reside in the foothills east of Kalispell, Montana.

Matthew and Andrew are real estate brokers, specializing in country and wilderness properties. Angela is now a full time mom to their precious baby, Nathan Scott. Sarah is now a full time mom to her sons, Landon James, and Jesse Alexander. Our family remains closely connected with the Lord and with each other. We face each new day with the realization that our Savior is always near to lead and guide, throughout the span of years.

Jim & Sally's peaceful home is in the wilderness of Montana. Bears, moose and deer can be seen from the picture window that overlooks Glacier National Park. This is where we have lived for over 24 years, and have learned to have a closer walk with our God.

Our ministry office is located in the hills north of Columbia Falls, MT—a little closer to civilization than is our home. It is where our staff responds to your phone calls, letters and emails, ships orders to you, and cares for all the necessary behind the scenes details.

Janell Garey is our general manager. It is her friendly greeting you are most likely to hear when you call the office. She oversees all the basic functions of the ministry behind the scenes—answering correspondence, managing communications between you and the rest of the staff, arranging meetings, managing shipping and receiving, and keeping the finances in order. She also assists with our camp meetings and speaks at our camp meetings and abroad as time and her other duties allow.

Jeanette Houghtelling is our personal assistant. She aids Jim and Sally as they write their books and facilitates the production of our various publications and email communications. She also assists Janell in the work of the office—answering the phone, filling orders, and meeting various needs as they arise. Occasionally she speaks and helps run our camp meetings.

Franklin & Kathy Cobos have become our Camp Meeting Coordinators. They were introduced to this message in 2001 and both applied it to their lives, their marriage, and their family. They now carry with them a deep commitment to nurture similar changes in other people’s lives. They oversee five of our camp meetings and speak both at ELM Camp Meetings and to other groups. And they do it with a smile we all enjoy!

Born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, Jim and Sally were high school sweethearts. Following a storybook courtship, they married and settled down to pursue the American Dream. They soon discovered that with all the trappings society calls "success" came also the baggage society takes for granted, superficial spirituality, a stale marriage, and a disconnected family.

Determined to find a better way they sold their possessions and moved to the wilderness of Montana. What they learned there is transforming their walk with God, igniting the spark in their marriage, and uniting their family. More than that, it is doing the same for all those who implement the simple principles they discovered. What is working for them can work for you where you are right now!
